Use pre-configured tournament templates to quickly set up common tournament formats. Templates include stages, settings, and best practices.

What are Templates?

Templates are pre-configured tournament setups that include:

  • Format Structure: Pre-configured stage types and ordering
  • Default Settings: Recommended settings for the format
  • Stage Configuration: Pre-set stages with appropriate settings
  • Best Practices: Settings based on common tournament formats

Available Templates

Standard League

Description: 7-week regular season with playoffs. Perfect for ongoing leagues.

Configuration:

  • Format: Round Robin
  • Duration: 9 weeks total (7 regular + 2 playoffs)
  • Stages:
    • Regular Season: Best of 1, 7 weeks, Monday matches
    • Playoffs: Best of 3, 2 weeks, Saturday matches
  • Registration: Discord required, rank balance enabled

Use Case: Long-running leagues, seasonal competitions

Single Elimination Tournament

Description: Bracket-style tournament. Teams are eliminated after one loss.

Configuration:

  • Format: Single Elimination Bracket
  • Duration: 2 weeks
  • Stages:
    • Bracket: Best of 3, 2 weeks, Saturday matches
  • Registration: Max 16 teams, Discord required

Use Case: Quick tournaments, playoffs, one-day events

Double Elimination Tournament

Description: Teams need two losses to be eliminated. More matches than single elimination.

Configuration:

  • Format: Double Elimination Bracket
  • Duration: 2-3 weeks
  • Stages:
    • Bracket: Best of 3 or 5, multiple weeks
  • Registration: Variable team limits

Use Case: Competitive tournaments, championships

Round Robin Tournament

Description: All teams play each other. Simple and fair format.

Configuration:

  • Format: Round Robin
  • Duration: Variable (depends on team count)
  • Stages:
    • Round Robin: Best of 1, all teams play each other
  • Registration: Flexible team limits

Use Case: Small tournaments, group stages, qualifiers

Using Templates

Step 1: Select Template

When creating a tournament:

  1. Click "Create New Tournament"
  2. Look for "Use Template" or template selection
  3. Browse available templates
  4. Select the template that fits your needs

Step 2: Customize Settings

Templates provide defaults, but you can customize:

  • Tournament Name: Change to your tournament name
  • Dates: Adjust start and end dates
  • Region: Set your region
  • Timezone: Set your timezone
  • Registration: Adjust registration settings
  • Stages: Modify or add stages

Step 3: Review and Create

  1. Review all template settings
  2. Make any necessary adjustments
  3. Click "Create Tournament"
  4. Tournament is created with template configuration

Template Customization

Modifying Template Settings

After selecting a template:

  • Change Dates: Adjust to your schedule
  • Modify Stages: Edit stage settings or add/remove stages
  • Adjust Registration: Change team limits or requirements
  • Update Times: Change default match times
  • Customize Format: Modify format-specific settings

Adding to Template

You can add:

  • Additional Stages: Add more stages beyond template
  • Custom Settings: Add tournament-specific settings
  • Extra Configuration: Configure additional options

Removing from Template

You can remove:

  • Unused Stages: Remove stages you don't need
  • Settings: Disable template settings you don't want
  • Requirements: Remove registration requirements if needed

  • Match Your Format: Choose template that matches your tournament type
  • Consider Duration: Ensure template duration fits your timeline
  • Team Count: Consider how many teams you'll have

While you can't create templates in the UI, you can:

  1. Create Tournament: Set up tournament manually
  2. Save Configuration: Document your settings
  3. Reuse Settings: Use similar settings for future tournaments
  4. Share Settings: Share configuration with other hosts

Weekly League Template

Format: Round Robin
Stages:
  - Regular Season (7 weeks, Bo1, Monday)
  - Playoffs (2 weeks, Bo3, Saturday)
Settings:
  - Registration: Open, Discord required
  - Rank Balance: Gold+ required
  - Max Teams: 10

Weekend Tournament Template

Format: Single Elimination
Stages:
  - Bracket (2 weeks, Bo3, Saturday-Sunday)
Settings:
  - Registration: Open, 16 teams max
  - Rank Balance: Disabled
  - Quick format for weekend events

Common Issues

"Template not available"
