3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the League Island service, run tournaments, verify players, communicate with you, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We may share data with service providers (e.g., hosting, authentication, and payment processing through Stripe) that help us operate the platform under strict confidentiality. For paid tournaments, relevant payment and tax information may be shared with the host organization running that tournament and with Stripe to process charges, collect tax, and support refunds/dispute handling. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

5. Payments, Tax, and Disputes

For paid registrations, payments are processed by Stripe and may include platform fees and applicable sales tax based on transaction details and legal requirements.

  • Refund actions are initiated by tournament hosts under their applicable policies.
  • We may process payment dispute and chargeback events, including temporarily freezing team registration status while disputes are unresolved.
  • Transaction descriptors and receipts may identify charges in a "Host via League Island" format or similar processor-compliant variation.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials safe.
