Tournament Settings
Configure tournament settings including registration options, rank balance requirements, and integration settings.
Accessing Tournament Settings
- Navigate to your tournament
- Click "Settings" or "Edit Tournament"
- You'll see all configurable settings
Basic Settings
Tournament Information
These settings are set during creation but can be edited:
- Name: Tournament display name
- Slug: URL identifier (cannot be changed after creation)
- Start Date: Tournament start date
- End Date: Tournament end date
- Region: Tournament region (NA, EUW, KR, etc.)
- Timezone: Tournament timezone
Editing Basic Settings
- Go to tournament settings
- Update name, dates, or region
- Click "Save"
- Changes apply immediately
Note: Slug cannot be changed. Create a new tournament if you need a different slug.
Registration Settings
Registration Toggle
- Registration Open: Enable/disable team registration
- When enabled, teams can register
- When disabled, registration is closed
Registration Deadline
- Deadline: Last date/time teams can register
- After deadline, registration closes automatically
- Set before tournament start date
Maximum Teams
- Max Teams: Maximum number of teams allowed
- Leave empty for unlimited teams
- Registration closes when limit is reached
Require Discord Link
- Require Discord: Require players to link Discord accounts
- Helps with communication and verification
- Recommended for organized tournaments
Rank Balance Settings
Enable Rank Balance
Toggle to enable rank-based restrictions:
- Enabled: Rank requirements are enforced
- Disabled: No rank restrictions
Rank Requirements
When enabled, configure:
Minimum Rank
- Min Rank: Lowest rank allowed (e.g., Gold)
- Players below this rank cannot register
- Helps maintain competitive level
Maximum Rank
- Max Rank: Highest rank allowed (e.g., Master)
- Players above this rank cannot register
- Prevents smurfing or creates rank brackets
Rank Distribution
Rules for team composition:
- Average Rank: Team average must be within range
- Individual Limits: Each player must be within range
- Balance Rules: Specific rank distribution requirements
Rank Balance Examples
Gold+ Tournament:
- Min Rank: Gold
- Max Rank: None
- All players must be Gold or higher
Platinum-Diamond Only:
- Min Rank: Platinum
- Max Rank: Diamond
- Players must be Platinum or Diamond
Balanced Teams:
- Min Rank: Gold
- Max Rank: Master
- Team average must be within range
- Prevents all-Master teams
Riot Integration Settings
Tournament Code Generation
Configure Riot tournament code settings:
- Enable Codes: Generate tournament codes for games
- Region: Region for code generation
- Provider ID: Riot provider ID (if configured)
- Tournament ID: Riot tournament ID (if configured)
Riot API Setup
To use Riot integration:
- Set up Riot API access
- Configure provider and tournament IDs
- Enable tournament code generation
- Codes are generated automatically for games

Advanced Settings
Tournament Format
Configure tournament structure:
- Format Type: Round Robin, Bracket, Swiss
- Season Weeks: Total tournament duration
- Regular Season Weeks: Regular season duration
- Playoff Weeks: Playoff duration
Match Settings
Default match configuration:
- Default Best Of: Default games per match
- Default Match Times: Default scheduling times
- Timezone: Timezone for scheduling
Editing Settings
During Tournament
Some settings can be changed during the tournament:
- Registration: Can close registration anytime
- Dates: Can extend end date if needed
- Max Teams: Can increase limit if space available
After Creation
Settings that can be edited:
- ✅ Tournament name
- ✅ Start/end dates
- ✅ Region and timezone
- ✅ Registration settings
- ✅ Rank balance settings
- ❌ Slug (cannot be changed)
Best Practices
Registration
- Set Deadline Early: Give teams time to register
- Clear Requirements: Communicate rank requirements
- Monitor Capacity: Watch team count approaching limit
- Close Promptly: Close registration when full or deadline passes
Rank Balance
- Appropriate Ranges: Set ranges that make sense
- Communicate Clearly: Explain rank requirements to teams
- Enforce Consistently: Apply rules fairly to all teams
- Consider Flexibility: Allow exceptions if needed
Settings Management
- Review Regularly: Check settings before tournament starts
- Test Registration: Verify registration works as expected
- Document Changes: Keep notes on setting changes
- Communicate Updates: Inform teams of setting changes
Common Issues
"Registration not working"
- Verify "Registration Open" is enabled
- Check registration deadline hasn't passed
- Ensure max teams limit isn't reached
- Verify tournament is active
"Rank requirements not enforcing"
- Verify rank balance is enabled
- Check rank settings are configured
- Ensure players have linked Riot accounts
- Verify rank data is up to date
"Cannot edit settings"
- Verify you have edit permissions
- Check tournament isn't locked
- Ensure you're on correct tournament
- Try refreshing the page
