Linking Riot Accounts

Link your Riot account to your player profile to enable rank verification, statistics, and tournament features.

Why Link Your Riot Account?

Linking Methods

Method 1: OAuth Linking (Recommended)

Using Riot OAuth:

  1. Go to your profile settings
  2. Click "Link Riot Account" or "Connect Riot"
  3. You'll be redirected to Riot's login page
  4. Log in with your Riot account
  5. Authorize the connection
  6. You'll be redirected back
  7. Account is linked automatically

  • Secure OAuth flow
  • Automatic account verification
  • No manual entry needed
  • Most reliable method

Method 2: Manual Linking

Enter Account Information:

  1. Go to profile settings
  2. Find "Link Riot Account" section
  3. Enter Game Name and Tag
  4. Enter Region
  5. Click "Link Account" or "Verify"
  6. System verifies and links account

Requirements:

  • Valid Game Name and Tag
  • Correct region
  • Account must exist and be active

Linking Process

Step 1: Access Linking

  1. Navigate to your profile
  2. Go to "Settings" or "Account" section
  3. Find "Riot Account" or "Link Account"
  4. Click to start linking process

Step 2: Provide Information

For OAuth:

  • Click "Link with Riot"
  • Redirected to Riot login
  • Log in and authorize

For Manual:

  • Enter Game Name (e.g., "SummonerName")
  • Enter Tag (e.g., "NA1")
  • Select Region
  • Submit information

Step 3: Verification

Account Verification:

  1. System verifies account exists
  2. Fetches account information
  3. Links account to your profile
  4. Updates profile with account data

Step 4: Confirmation

After Linking:

  1. Account is linked
  2. Profile updated with Riot information
  3. Rank information fetched
  4. Account marked as verified

Account Verification

Verification Status

Verified Account:

  • Status: Account is verified
  • Rank Data: Rank information available
  • Full Features: All features enabled
  • Tournament Ready: Can register for tournaments

Unverified Account:

  • Status: Account not verified
  • Limited Features: Some features unavailable
  • Manual Verification: May need manual verification
  • Tournament Restrictions: May have restrictions

Verification Process

Automatic Verification:

  • Account verified during linking
  • Riot API confirms account
  • Profile marked as verified
  • Rank data fetched

Manual Verification:

  • May be required in some cases
  • Admin/staff can verify manually
  • Check verification status
  • Contact support if needed

Rank Information

Rank Fetching

After Linking:

  • Solo/Duo Rank: Fetched from Riot API
  • Flex Rank: Fetched from Riot API
  • League Points: Current LP
  • Win/Loss: Ranked win/loss record

Rank Updates

Automatic Updates:

  • Ranks update when games are imported
  • Periodic rank refreshes
  • Updates during tournament participation
  • Manual refresh available

Manual Refresh:

  1. Go to profile
  2. Click "Refresh Rank"
  3. System fetches latest rank
  4. Rank information updates

Account Management

Viewing Linked Account

Check Account Status:

  1. Go to profile
  2. View "Riot Account" section
  3. See account information
  4. Check verification status

Updating Account

If Account Changes:

  1. Go to profile settings
  2. Update account information
  3. Re-verify if needed
  4. Save changes

Unlinking Account

Remove Link:

  1. Go to profile settings
  2. Find "Unlink Account" option
  3. Confirm unlinking
  4. Account is unlinked

Note: Unlinking may affect:

  • Tournament registration
  • Statistics tracking
  • Rank verification
  • Tournament code generation

Troubleshooting

"Account not linking"

Problem: Unable to link account

Solutions:

  • Verify Game Name and Tag are correct
  • Check region matches account region
  • Ensure account exists and is active
  • Try OAuth method instead
  • Contact support if persistent

"Account already linked"

Problem: Account linked to another user

Solutions:

  • Verify you're using correct account
  • Check if account is linked elsewhere
  • Contact support if account should be yours
  • Use different Riot account if needed

"Verification failing"

Problem: Account not verifying

Solutions:

  • Double-check account information
  • Verify Riot API is accessible
  • Check account is active
  • Try refreshing verification
  • Contact support if needed

"Rank not showing"

Problem: Rank information not appearing

Solutions:

  • Verify account is linked and verified
  • Check account has ranked games
  • Refresh rank manually
  • Wait for automatic update
  • Check Riot API access
