Quick Start Guide for Staff
As a staff member, you help manage tournaments, matches, and games for the hosts you're assigned to. This guide will help you get started with your key responsibilities.
Staff Responsibilities
As a staff member, you can:
- Manage matches for assigned hosts
- Import games from Riot's API
- Schedule and reschedule matches
- Update match status and scores
- View tournament and match information
- Manage game imports and status
Getting Started
Step 1: Access Your Dashboard
- Log in to the platform
- Navigate to your Staff Dashboard
- You'll see a list of hosts you're assigned to
- Select a host to manage
Step 2: Navigate to Matches
- Select a host from your dashboard
- Go to "Tournaments" in the sidebar
- Select a tournament
- Click on the "Matches" tab
You'll see all matches for that tournament.
Managing Matches
Viewing Matches
The matches page shows:
- Match Information: Teams, date, time, status
- Match Status: Pending, Scheduled, Live, Completed
- Games: Expand matches to see individual games
- Actions: Edit, schedule, import games
Scheduling Matches
To schedule a match:
- Find the match you want to schedule
- Click "Edit" or the match row
- Set the Date and Time
- Set the Status to "Scheduled"
- Click "Save"
Updating Match Status
Match statuses:
- Pending: Match not yet scheduled
- Scheduled: Match has date/time set
- Live: Match is currently in progress
- Completed: Match has finished
To update status:
- Find the match
- Click "Edit"
- Change the Status dropdown
- Click "Save"
Managing Games
Viewing Games
Each match contains individual games:
- Find the match
- Click the down arrow (▼) to expand
- You'll see all games for that match:
- Game number (1, 2, 3, etc.)
- Game status (Pending, Completed, Skipped)
- Tournament code (if available)
Game Statuses
- 🟡 Pending: Game hasn't been played yet
- 🟢 Completed: Game has been imported and completed
- ⚪ Skipped: Game wasn't needed (match ended early)
- 🔵 In Progress: Game is currently being played
Importing Games
To import a game from Riot's API:
- Expand the match to see all games
- Find the game you want to import (should be "Pending")
- Click "Import Game" button
- In the modal:
- Enter the Riot Game ID (match ID from Riot)
- Select the Region (NA1, EUW1, KR, etc.)
- Click "Import Game Data"
The system will:
- Fetch game data from Riot's API
- Import participant statistics
- Update match score automatically
- Mark game as "Completed"

Common Staff Tasks
Daily Workflow
- Check Scheduled Matches: Review matches scheduled for today
- Update Match Status: Mark matches as "Live" when they start
- Import Games: Import games as they finish
- Verify Scores: Check that match scores are correct
- Reschedule if Needed: Update times if matches are delayed
Match Management
- View All Matches: Tournament → Matches tab
- Filter Matches: Use filters by status, date, stage
- Edit Match Details: Click match to edit
- Bulk Actions: Select multiple matches for bulk operations
Game Management
- View Games: Expand matches to see games
- Import Games: Use "Import Game" button
- Check Status: Monitor game completion status
- Verify Data: Ensure imported data is correct
Best Practices
Match Scheduling
- Schedule in Advance: Set match times as early as possible
- Use Tournament Timezone: Ensure times are in correct timezone
- Account for Delays: Build buffer time between matches
- Communicate Changes: Notify teams if schedules change
Game Importing
- Import Promptly: Import games soon after they finish
- Verify Game IDs: Double-check Riot Game IDs before importing
- Check Region: Ensure correct region is selected
- Monitor Auto-Skip: System automatically skips unused games
Status Management
- Update Statuses: Keep match statuses current
- Mark Live Matches: Set status to "Live" when matches start
- Complete Matches: Mark as "Completed" when finished
- Handle Errors: Report import errors promptly
Troubleshooting
Game Import Fails
- Verify Riot Game ID is correct
- Check that region matches game region
- Ensure game has finished (not in progress)
- Check Riot API status
Match Not Showing
- Verify you have access to the host
- Check tournament is active
- Ensure match exists in the system
- Refresh the page
Status Not Updating
- Save changes after updating status
- Check you have edit permissions
- Verify match is in correct tournament
- Try refreshing the page
